Vidarikanda Plant Morphology

Vidarikanda plant is indigenous to the sub Himalayan region, particularly in temperate regions of Central and South India. This Ayurvedic herb has an extensive tuberous root system that is white and spreads out like a vine. These tubers are white, starchy, packed with essential micronutrients and they have a subtle sweet taste.

It’s a climbing plant with trifoliate leaves. Its leaves feature petioles (10-15 cm in length) and stipules (4mm in length). The plant sprouts purplish-blue flowers that bear fruit pods with red and brown bristles. These pods contain three to six seeds.
