Plant Morphology
Shatavari is found in various regions of India, generally at altitudes upto 4,000 feet. It is a scanty climber, highly branched, prickly under shrub. Its roots are tuberous, elongated, straight or curved, while the flowers appear in racemes, 2.5 – 5 cm in length. Fruits are berry, pea like, small, red when ripe.
