Ayurveda a living tradition

While the tradition of Ayurveda is believed to be over 5 thousand years old, it remains as relevant as ever— each day individuals around the world experience its timeless wisdom in their everyday lives. Ayurveda stands for a philosophy whose goal is to achieve health and longevity. Literally, Ayurveda means “wisdom of life” and it is a time-tested holistic system that can be embraced by anyone.

Ayurveda views every person as distinct and identifies the unique mind-body makeup. It has this remarkable individualistic approach that is rooted in the idea that each of us is born with a totally personal blueprint for optimum health. The constitution of an individual defines who you are from the time you are born. No two constitutions are exactly alike; therefore, no two individuals will have exactly identical expressions of ideal health.

In Ayurveda, everything is medicine and yet everything is poison; what may be beneficial to you could harm another, and vice versa. It all depends on what patterns are presently at play in your particular system. Ayurveda is fundamentally against the one-size-fits-all approach. However, there are a few things that are considered to be beneficial for everyone. Ayurveda places the main focus firmly on the individual.

At its root, Ayurveda is a way of life that can facilitate each person to claim and celebrate the capacity for a true sense of wellness.
