Nirgundi Powder Morphology
Nirgundi (Vitex negundo) belongs to the Lamiaceae family. It is an erect shrub that can grow up to 8 meters high and is usually found near streams. The aromatic shrub has a thin reddish-brown bark with fine hairs. It has digitated leaves with three to five lanceolate leaflets and serrated edges. The plant has 2 to 3-inch long spires of flowers that are sometimes blue and sometimes white with a purple tint. It has small, round fruits.
